Ashton Mitchell’s work for Housing New Zealand has featured in an recent article published by Stuff.co.nz on Waterview Court, a social housing development providing up to 120 social housing units. The project has been described as one of the biggest social housing developments in Auckland by social housing minister Amy Adams and contributes to the intense housing development under the Crown Building Project.

Ashton Mitchell has worked in close collaboration with Housing New Zealand’s urban designers to develop a master-plan and individual building designs. This has led to a design for 120 new dwellings which range from three-bedroom terraced housing through to one-bedroom apartments. All dwellings are planned to optimize the site as they are centered around safe and secure common green space with community gardens and play areas for children. Construction has started within the Great North Road site, with two blocks being scheduled to finish by 2018 and the remaining by 2020.
