Recent site photos showing construction on Stage 1 of the FABRIC apartments progressing well with the commencement of construction on the podium level over the Christmas period. Detail excavation and all ground anchors are now complete, with all sub-grade services nearly in place and the last of the foundations being prepared and poured. Hopefully some more of this dry weather will continue to allow construction to progress unhindered.
A re-imagining of a former industrial site, the development features 239 new apartments spread over five separate buildings all linked via a landscape podium. Stage One of FABRIC, now complete, consists of three four-storey apartment buildings accommodating 161 apartments. Ashton Mitchell worked closely with developers Lamont & Co to create a new ‘pocket neighbourhood’ with a strong architectural identity and sense of place. The development is focused on a large common green space, with all buildings connected underground via basement car-parking.
