Ben is a registered architect with over 20 years of experience in Wellington, Auckland, and Melbourne, working on a wide range of projects from bespoke interior fit outs, multi-residential apartments, to large commercial developments.

Ben has been a Director of Ashton Mitchell since 2016 and is responsible for relationship management with public sector organisations such as Kāinga Ora and community housing providers, as well as large corporate clients. He places particular importance on community engagement, and ensuring a strong design concept can be maintained through working drawings and construction.

Ben is passionate about community projects and the ability of architecture to enrich the lives of all New Zealanders, having spent time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity building houses in rural Costa Rica, as well as spending several months in East Africa teaching in a rural secondary school.
