With summer just around the corner, Ashton Mitchell took a break from the usual office routine to indulge in a day of friendly competition and sunshine. In keeping with our tradition of a yearly big day out, the team decided to head over to the Auckland Bowling Club to celebrate with a few games of Lawn Bowls.

The bowling green provided the perfect backdrop for a day of relaxation and team building. Many of us were first timers when it came to lawn bowls, but with the help of the friendly staff and some seasoned players among us, we quickly got the hang of the game.
The competition was hotly contested, with unsubstantiated claims of ‘creative scoring’ on behalf of the winning team. To add a touch of excitement, we organized a mini awards ceremony to recognize outstanding performances and memorable moments.
Two of our fashion-forward colleagues, Bevin and Vincent, took lawn bowls fashion to a whole new level purchasing all-white outfits, complete with white shorts. The sight of Bevin and Vincent strutting around in their crisp, all-white ensembles added a touch of style and humour to the day, earning them the “Best Dressed” award.
Our lawn bowls outing was a celebration of our team spirit, adaptability, and the joy of trying something new together. It was a day filled with shared experiences that will undoubtedly contribute to a more connected and cohesive team at Ashton Mitchell. As we return to our desks with refreshed minds, we look forward to the next adventure that strengthens our bonds and makes our workplace all the more enjoyable.
