In a fun nod to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Ashton Mitchell brought the Olympic spirit into the office with their version of the Games.
The AM Office Olympics (AMOO) kicked off with pizza and a presentation by Bevin – highlighting the office’s latest sports-themed project. Following this, Simon introduced the AM Office Olympic events, the events being unique office twists on traditional Olympic sports.
Event 1 was a Medal Tally Guess, we put our knowledge of the NZ Olympic athlete hopefuls to the test, guessing the total number of medals New Zealand would win at the Paris Games.
Event 2, a unique twist on table tennis where teams competed in a table tennis-themed beer pong game. Frustratingly more difficult than first thought.
Event 3, the Javelin, a race to craft and launch paper planes, aiming for maximum distance while avoiding office obstacles. Distances of the paper plane throw ranged from surprisingly long, to hilariously short.
Finally, Event 4 Golf, wrapped up the afternoon with a 3-hole office mini-putt course, where even the most relaxed competitors found their competitive streak.
